Code & Go Activity Ten
This class will cover the following topics:
- Artistic design
- Creativity
- Teamwork
- Programming
Materials needed:
- Mural paper
- Scratch paper
- Crayons, watercolor paint and brushes or magic markers
- Colby robot
The different teams will now create a maze on mural paper. First they must plan their maze on the scratch paper and when finished show the teacher. The teacher should guide the children with their design to make sure it will work. Once again, make sure the distance is accurate, so that the mouse robot has the appropriate space to turn before hitting a boundary line. Once the design is approved the children can get their mural paper and begin sketching it out. The final touches are then done with the appropriate artistic medium. Once the maze is completely finished the team must program their mouse robot to travel through to the end. The teacher is encouraged to have the different teams practice programming their mouse robots on different team’s mazes. These mazes should be displayed, so the children can be proud of the work they have accomplished.
