Get Started!

Camp Owners/Directors

Welcome! We are so thrilled to welcome you into our ESSK V-Camp Family. At ESSK, our vision is to infuse the fun and excitement of a camp day into the world of coding and programming. The ESSK website is your one-stop-shop for all you will need to run an amazing program for your campers. Please take some time and review the areas of the website that pertain to you. You will find the full curriculum, professional development videos, and the ESSK contact information.

We highly recommend that you watch the professional development videos and have your instructors view them as well. All of the tools are accessible to you and will help guide you in making sure that this amazing program is the best it can be.

The key to running a successful ESSK V-Camp is preparation!

Below are the tools you and your counselors will need to prepare and succeed in your ESSK V-Camp. Our ESSK Squad has developed a Counselor Toolkit. Always feel free to reach out to our team with any questions!

Step One

Log Into your ESSK account. Once logged in you will have access to the ESSK program that you purchased.

Step Two

Google Chrome needs to be downloaded onto the computer that will be used for the program. Click here to download.

Step Three

Purchase Zoom. Click here to purchase.

Step Four

Review the ESSK website to become familiar with all that is available to you.

Step Five

Create a camper intake form. Click here for an example.

Step Six

Create your Marketing Plan to attract camper enrollment. Click here for guidance.

Step Seven

Once instructors are hired, get them started with the proper training. The instructors should watch the Professional Development Videos created by ESSK in regards to the Daily/Weekly Schedule and What Makes a Great Virtual Counselor. See the Counselor Toolkit below.

Step Eight

Your instructors must watch all of the Professional Development videos from Make Wonder. You must submit the counselor email addresses to us. They will then receive an invitation to view the Make Wonder PD videos.

Step Nine

After campers are enrolled in the program, start to create the camp groups for the weekly sessions. We recommend grouping your campers by their ability rather than their age.

Step Ten

Assign an instructor to each group and assign them their group’s roster. We recommend no less than 7 campers to a group, and no more than 10 campers. We also recommend that campers be grouped based on their coding and programming ability before their age. This should be a question on your camper intake questionnaire.

Step Eleven

Instructors should then add the campers to their Class Connect Page.
