Code & Go Activity Thirteen
This class will cover the following topics:
- Creating art using technology
- More complex programming
- Understanding a robot can be used to do a job
Materials needed:
- Water colored markers
- Mural paper or white construction paper
- Marker holder
- Tape
- Colby robot
Use this time if needed to let your children complete their Techno Art Masterpieces. If time remains have the group create one large Techno Creation. Each child will do their own design on the mural paper by programming their mouse robot with the color marker they want to use. Robots will intersect other children’s designs and that is okay. Explain that we are all cooperating to make one beautiful artistic piece. There is no one correct way to accomplish this. Each child will use their own creativity and add to the whole project.
Once completed, each group’s mural should be displayed for all to see. Attach a heading on each large mural. CREATED BY with the children’s names.
While one child or a group of children are working on the group masterpiece let the rest of the group continue practicing their programming skills. Let them create any environment they want and program their mouse to successfully go through the entire course. They can use the green maze grids, mural paper, PVC, 2×3’s, 2×4’s or any other materials you have provided for them. Try to encourage them to be creative and use several different materials to accomplish this task.
