Introduction
What can we as engineers make with everyday materials?
Let’s create a construction toy out of cardboard!
By the end of this activity, and some parental assistance, you will have a bunch of pieces that can be used to build a variety of structures!
Activity
In the activity, you will create a simple building element out of cardboard
What other types of elements will you be able to create with? What can you build with them?
Materials
- Markers
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Ruler
Instructions
Step 1
Cut cardboard sheet into small sections, no more than 3×4 inches
Step 2
Trim small 3/4 inch slots into the cardboard pieces. All slots should be in the same location on the cardboard.
Step 3
Color and stack the pieces!
