What computer programs do I need to have in order for my child to be able to take this virtual robotics program?
    1. Google Chrome
    2. Zoom
Do I as the parent have to be sitting with my child while they are in the virtual session?

No. However, if your child has difficulty with reading you may need to lend assistance if they are having difficulty.

Do we need to have a physical robot to take this class?
    1. No. The virtual robotics sessions are done on a simulator. 
    2. We do offer the Dash Robot for purchase, which will allow your child the option of completing the “Campified” Home Challenges and extension activities with the physical robot. 
If we do purchase the Dash Robot is the Blockly programming the same as with the virtual simulator?

Yes. The programming is the same whether you are using the virtual simulator or the physical Dash Robot.

Does my child need to have robotics experience in order to be successful with this program?

No, not at all. This is a great program for children that have no experience as well as children that have some coding and programming experience.

If I enroll my child in the one-week program, are there any other sessions?

Yes, We offer a one week and a two-week program. That needs to be decided upon enrollment. 

Who created the curriculum for this program?

Certified educators have worked to create interactive programs that tie the fun of the camp experience in with the amazing world of coding and programming. The curriculum is sequential and builds off of what the children learned the previous day. It will provide a challenge and ensure that children are problem-solving and thinking critically.

What additional resources will my child need in order to successfully complete this program?

Other than a computer with Google Chrome and Zoom, your child will need a quiet room to be able to concentrate in.  A noisy environment can be distracting to your child and the other campers.
